How to Store Your Disposable Vape So It Keeps Its Flavour
How to Store Your Disposable Vape So It Keeps Its Flavour
A disposable vape is a sealed, self-contained device — but how you store it makes a real difference to flavour, vapour production and how long it lasts. Here is how to get the most out of every device, and what to do when something goes wrong.
Storing a device you are using now
• Keep it upright. Standing the device mouthpiece-up keeps the e-liquid where it should be and reduces leaking.
• Keep it out of direct sun. UV light degrades both the e-liquid and the battery. A drawer, bag or glovebox-free spot is ideal.
• Avoid extreme temperatures. Room temperature (roughly 15–25°C) is best. A hot car can reach 60°C and will permanently affect the device.
• Keep it away from moisture. Do not store devices in a bathroom or near a sink — moisture can reach the airflow sensor.
Storing a device you have not opened yet
Unopened devices keep their flavour best in a cool, dark, dry place — a cupboard or drawer is perfect. There is no need to refrigerate them, and freezing is not recommended. Most sealed disposables stay in good condition for 12–18 months when stored properly, although flavour intensity fades slowly over time. If you have bought a few, rotate them — use the oldest first.
Travelling with your vape
Keep the device in your carry-on rather than checked luggage, and put it in a small pouch or case so the mouthpiece stays clean. For domestic travel in Australia, keep devices in your hand luggage and be aware that vaping is prohibited on all Australian domestic flights and in most indoor public spaces.
Troubleshooting: three common problems
No vapour at all? Check the device is not empty, then try a slow, steady 2–3 second draw. Some devices have a subtle airflow sensor that needs a firmer pull to activate. If it still produces nothing on a full device, contact us — faulty units are covered by our warranty.
A burnt or dry taste? This usually means the wick has dried out. Put the device down for 10–15 minutes and take gentler draws afterwards. Long, aggressive hits are the most common cause.
E-liquid leaking? Most leaking comes from storing the device on its side or in a hot place. Wipe the mouthpiece and store the device upright. If a brand-new sealed device leaks badly, contact us within 7 days for a replacement.
Five tips that make a difference
1. Store upright, always.
2. Buy the size you will finish — a device left half-used for months will lose flavour.
3. Keep the original packaging for unopened devices; it protects the mouthpiece.
4. Do not leave a device in the car, on a windowsill or near a heater.
5. Recharge rechargeable models with the cable supplied — fast chargers can damage the battery.
